St Bees : The Beach |
|
St Bees has a long, sandy, gently sloping beach which extends north to south for a distance of about a mile. There is acces and a carpark at either end, but the north end is recommended. The south carpark is difficult to find and the access, via a narrow road with no pavements and under a narrow rail bridge, makes access awkward. There are no facilities here other than a small car park. The beach itself is also much rockier atthis end with limited sandy areas, especially at high tide. The north end is well sign-posted, has several facilities and a sandy beach available at all times orther than high tide, when only the top pebble beach is available.
